DEMENTIA

Definition:  An umbrella term for a decline in cognitive function severe‬
‭enough to interfere with daily life. It affects memory, thinking, and reasoning.‬
‭
Causes: Dementia is caused by damage to brain cells. Common causes‬
‭ include Alzheimer's disease, vascular dementia (due to stroke), Lewy body‬ dementia, and frontotemporal disorders.

Remedies:  
Medications‬‭ : Cholinesterase inhibitors and memantine to slow‬
‭ symptoms.‬
‬‭ Behavioral Therapy‬‭ : To manage aggression, confusion, and anxiety‬
‭ in dementia patients.‬
